Titone-Perez Birthday Wish Come True

Today was a childrens dream come true. Rebecca had a celebration for her three darling children David, Cecily & Giuliana. Elijah & I got to the party & instantly we began to have a wonderful time. The theme of the party was prince & princess. The girls looked like princesses as usual. The boys had foam swords to play with. They had fun all day. The twins took Elijah to the jumper They jumped and jumped. The laughter continued all day long. Rebecca had a Chocolate fountain, like fondue. There was a wide array of things for dipping. My favorite was the coconut macaroons. There was also a lady making the coolest balloons. She was a complete artist. She made everything from a sea turtle hat, a fishing pole with a fish at the end, swords, a palm tree with a monkey on it & even a penguin. What a talented balloonist. The bubble Machine went all day long. Guiliana woke up & joined the festivities. There was a wide arrange of food & drinks. All three kids enjoyed the “Happy Birthday song” they instantly dove in to eat the cake, so cute! The Titone’s really know how to entertain. This was so nice to celebrate the twins David & Cecily(3) and Giuliani (2) They ate and enjoyed candy all day long. What a loving Family to open up their home for this wonderful occasion. Elijah and I were so happy to be apart of it. I just love each one of these three love bugs and of course their Mommy too. P.S. Sal , Renee, Steven, Marisa, Grandma I love you too!!!!!!

Practice of Mindfulness

When the monks come there is a lot of preparation. Seng’s mother is always the one who is in charge. She prepares food for the Monks which is usually vegetarian . The finest tea or coffee we can get our hands on. The pressure is on when the monks come because they need to eat before 12 in the afternoon, they fast the rest of the day. We have the house fragrant with the freshest most beautiful flowers. There is an array of fresh fruit for them to bless & eat. You must prepare a area in the house to pray. They sit down and you face them. The chanting begins, You must sit on the floor with your legs both tucked under you buttocks & your hands out in front of you in prayer position. The monks begin to chant. The monks light a candle & the wax drips into a metal bowl with water in it. Sometimes we add lemons or rose pedals to the water. The chant is repetitive yet captivating. The smell of incense is beautiful. All the sudden I find myself in a meditative state. I loose myself in the chant. Praying to the only thing I know Jesus Christ. It is amazing how I can experience such a spiritual experience when the Monks come. I achieve mindfulness, being fully present in the moment. The Monks use the water with the melted candle wax to sprinkle water on you at the end of the chanting.
I am not Buddhist. I do have the utmost respect for diversity. I choose to use a type of fusion in my life that works for me. I would never say “No” to a custom that Seng’s family has been doing for many generations. It is out of respect for ancestors & future generations. I appreciate many different peoples customs & beliefs. Spirituality comes in many different forms. Some people find spiritual fulfillments in art, music, writing, poetry, nature or acting. Anyway I can deeply experience the moments in my life, rather than just living through them. Wishing you Faith, Hope & Love to what is important to you in life.

My family has two favorites when they come to Downey Pina Pizza & Pepe’s Mexican food. The food, company & weather was great! The day was full of laughter and love. My cheeks actually hurt from smiling. Cheers & Love to my family that made Grandma’s birthday special. The boys got Grandpa to sing on the WII "Tuesdays gone" by Leonard Skinner. He rocked it, like he always dose, what a voice! The Laker game was on, They won! When Grandpa was leaving he said "here I'll wear my hat like Kobe." I love his glasses he looks like my favorite Karl Lagerfeld!

Spring Break

We had a wonderful few days in Huntington Beach visiting Aunt Maresha. Her new place is so cute, she has done very good for herself. It was great to see Grandma & Grandpa they got me so many presents for our new place, I am so grateful. What a surprise. I felt like it was Christmas. They were over for Easter. Seng & I made prime rib for the whole family. I kept saying “I need this & that.” Well Grandma remembered everything ,of course & went shopping for me. She bought everything I needed. Aunt Renee & Scott’s is always a blast. All the boy’s hang out in Scooters garage & become Artistes! The kids always make some art project with Uncle Scott. Uncle Scott studied Theater in college ,so he insists all the boy’s be in character of fine Artistes! The food and company was wonderful. We spent most of our leisure time in New Port. We ate at Chronic Taco, I was impressed. The beach was so cold. We went to make sand castles, and it was freezing. I felt like we should have been making snowmen!! Well, so much for the sun tan on spring break! It was fun to be with family. Its always therapeutic for me just to watch & listen to the waves. As you can see we are never to old to make a sand castle.

Grandpa & Grandma Lewis 60th

This was such a wonderful day! What a iconic day my Grandparents married for 60 years! They have given us all something to emulate. It was so nice to be in the same place will all our friends and family. My mom & I worked very hard on our end to ensure the seating arrangements & name tags were perfect. We used themes from singing artist from my grandparents era, it was a complete success! My grandparents friends, Tim & Carolyn McMullen made the best video & played all the music. Marie and her husband Mel McMullen were the M.C.'s. They ran the event and kept it smooth & professional. We had friends and loved ones who drove or flew hundreds of miles for this day. We had a blast from the past when a couple of the Blaster's surprised us by showing up. They used to practice in the garage where my grandparents raised my mom, aunt and uncles. The boys were friends with my uncles. They also played at my parent's wedding reception back in the day. Great to have so many wonderful people and so much love in one room!!
